Teeth whitening; economical ways to brighter teeth
Hollywood calls and the trendy follow, today it isn’t tans, it is whiter teeth. The cost has also helped the new trend by drastically coming down. Recent advances in science and cosmetic procedures; has also contributed to the popularity. The most economical way is the self help home kits, which is available from the internet and most chemist shops. The simple instructions consist of making a teeth mould from the provided gum shield and a bleaching agent mix to do the job. First you have to place the gum shield in a bowl of hot water, and then when the rubber has softened you simply bite up and down to make an impression of your teeth in the main body. Then mixing up the bleaching agent you pour some into the mould and place the shield onto your teeth. You then wait a set period and take it off, cleaning it for the next session and rinsing your teeth. The mix will bleach your teeth white and give you a nice colour to your molars. You need to adhere to some restrictions to your diet and drinking habits, but apart from that it won’t upset your routine too much. Another popular way is to go to a salon or have a technician visit you at home. This method involves a gel similar to the bleaching mix, it is coated onto the front of the teeth only, and then a rubber shield is placed in the mouth. This shield protects the mouth, gums and lips from the next stage. That involves an intense light source being shone onto the gel to make it react with the enamel of your teeth. This makes the enamel run and literally whitens the discoloured parts to give you that Hollywood style smile. Again there are restrictions on dietary and social drinking habits to help you keep that smile and colour for a long time. The session with a cosmetic dentist lasts for an hour and consists of three fifteen minute bouts, in extreme cases you may need a top up later on. You will feel some discomfort for a few days, but a few paracetamol will usually sort that out, all in all a fairly good method and a quick one. The cost is around £400.00 although a lot of new start ups are doing half price sessions to attract new business, compared to the home kit at £50 (approx) it is a bargain to look and feel good.
